Technician Certification As part of its commitment to advancing professionalism within the onsite power industry, EGSA offers the Electrical Generator Systems Technician Certification Assessment. This rigorous assessment identifies technicians who possess comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical and electrical components, and their interactions, as well as the processes and procedures required for the installation, service, maintenance, and repair of onsite power generation systems. Order your exam today! EGSA Member Certification Portal Non-member Certification Portal EGSA’s Generator Systems Technician Certification is available at two levels: Apprentice Certification – Designed for technical college students, recent graduates, military personnel, and first- or second-year technicians, this exam covers 40+ areas of expertise and validates that fundamental knowledge of onsite power systems have been achieved. Certification is valid for three years. Journeyman Certification – Intended for technicians with at least three years of practical field experience, this exam covers 61 individual areas of expertise, assuring employers that the technician meets or exceeds industry knowledge standards. Certification is valid for five years.
