Anthropology of Europe PWGE, USGC, W

The course examines ethnicity, nationalism, democratization, unification, and fragmentation with an emphasis on specific countries or regions within Europe. Classic anthropological topics, such as kinship, political organization, ritual, and religion are employed in the study of European nations, ethnicities, and minority communities. Writing proficiency is required for a passing grade in this course.
