Anthropology of Memory

Examination of the interplay of individual and collective memory and the processes through which representations of the past are produced and challenged. We will pay special attention to how the media of memory—images, rituals, stories, monuments, and landscapes—shape the ways the past is recalled and selectively forgotten.
