Arabic Poetry and Melody

This course is uniquely designed to introduce a brief history of poetry in the Arab world starting from classic to contemporary poetry. Students will study one of the greatest light poems that have been sung, enjoy the Arabic music, and perform some of those songs, knowing what the lyrics mean and the story behind each poem and song.
