Marine Biogeography and Evolution

Although the study of biogeography and evolution isn't fundamentally different in the ocean than it is on land, important differences exist in the history and pace of discovery, as well as in the mode and tempo of how biodiversity is generated, distributed, and maintained across geographic space. In this course we will focus on historical and contemporary biogeography in the marine realm, and compare and contrast evolutionary processes between marine and terrestrial ecosystems.
