Topics in Cinematic Arts and Theatre

This course will examine the unique and shared aspects of theatre performance by viewing film versions of theatre plays. By comparing this "translation" or "cross-medium" process, students should have a better understanding of the following: 1) The role and contribution of the various artists; 2) The special features of the medium (theatre& film); and 3) The ways in which the work of one medium is translated into another.
