General Chemistry I

The first semester of the introductory level course dealing with the elementary principles of chemistry. Students will learn the foundational concepts regarding dimensional analysis, atomic structure and theory, stoichiometry and chemical reactions, periodic table trends, chemical binding and molecular structure. This course is required of all students majoring in biological and physical sciences. Two 1-hour and twenty-minute lecture periods per week and one 2-hour laboratory period per week.
