Organic Chemistry I

This is the first course in a two-semester sequence. Topics in this course include nomenclature, structure, physical and chemical properties, synthesis, and typical reactions for organic compounds, with special emphasis on reaction mechanisms, spectroscopy, and stereochemistry. Laboratory is required.
