Teaching Mathematics to Diverse Children in Early Childhood

through 2nd Grade Classrooms. This course provides opportunities to develop knowledge and skills to elicit, understand, and extend children’s thinking from early childhood to second grade. Through directed field experiences, students will participate in problem-solving and assessment practices that support inclusive, culturally sustaining mathematics teaching to racially, linguistically, and socioeconomically diverse children.
