Advanced Seminar in Criminology

This course explores the question of crime causation from various theoretical perspectives in the social sciences. The schools of thought examined include utilitarianism, positivism, human ecology, social structural approaches, social process (learning) theories, labeling theories, and radical-critical (political) perspectives.
