Introduction to Film Studies

In this course, students will learn the visual “grammar” of the film while also tracing its history. By the end of the course, students should be proficient in film terminology, capable of conducting a detailed analysis of a film and familiar with some of the major moments in film history, including the contributions of African American directors, past and present.
