Spatial Data, Layout, and Design

This course provides graduate students with an in-depth examination of cartographic design, principles, and theory for effectively visualizing and communicating geographic information. Students will synthesize knowledge from empirical data and apply advanced visualization techniques to create original and innovative map products. Topics covered include: map projections, generalization, symbology, layout, and design.
