Healthcare Law and Ethics

This course will investigate how legal and regulatory compliance helps shape the healthcare environment in the United States. A brief explanation of the legal system is covered. Students will explore how legal responsibility may be at odds with individual ethical norms, and how to possibly reconcile such conflicts. We will focus on patient privacy laws and the requirements of electronic health records.
