Early and Middle Childhood Development

The growth, development, and guidance of young children from three through eight years of age are studied. Practical implications of research and major theoretical issues and observational techniques are addressed. The importance of play in fostering a broad range of developmental goals for children is stressed. Three lecture hours, one laboratory hour per week.
