HORTICULTURAL PLANT BREEDING

This class will introduce students to traditional and modern technologies for breeding horticultural crops such as fruits, vegetables, and ornamental crops. Students will learn about the importance of plant breeding for horticultural crop improvement, mechanisms of traditional and modern breeding technologies, and biotechnologies with an emphasis on specific applications for horticultural crops. Credit will only be given for one of the following: HORT 5100 or HORT 6100.
