Introduction to Histotechnology

This course provides an introduction to histology labora- tory operation and the professional responsibilities of the histologic technician. Emphasis is placed on organization, terminology, specimen accession, record keeping, quality assurance, OSHA regulations, quality improvement, princi- ples and concepts of medical ethics, and legal issues. Upon completion, students will be able to meet the requirements and responsibilities of the daily operation of a histology lab- oratory.
