World History and Technology I

Survey of the role of technology in history from prehistoric times to the beginning of the Scientific Revolution. The first of a two-course sequence, it begins in the Paleolithic and Neolithic Eras and ends with the era of European global expansion. Students will consider not only about the great advances of humankind but also the scientific principles behind them, focusing on major themes such as power, water, transportation, and materials.
