The echoes and memories of the First and Second World Wars continue to permeate modern British society, culture, and politics. This course will attempt to shed the emotional baggage of the last 100 years by contextualizing Britain's wartime experiences. Students will explore historical sites and debate primary and secondary sources to create a nuanced understanding of Britain during the First and Second World Wars.
