The Italian American Experience: Processes of Assimilation and Acculturation

This course focuses on the development of Italian American literature through the reading and analysis of the works of some of the most influential Italian American writers of the twentieth century. Students will study Italian American literature in connection with theories and questions pertaining to cultural backgrounds as well as ethnic, gender and class struggle.
