Beginning Sailing

The purpose of this course is to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to participate in and enjoy sailing as a lifetime recreational activity. Special emphasis will be given to the development of sound fundamental knowledge and skills, such as selection, care and use of equipment, sailing terminology, types of sailboats, wind and points of sail, sail trim and balance, nautical rules of the road and basic seamanship.
