Coastal Birds of Alabama

This course provides an in-depth exploration of the diverse birdlife found along the northern Gulf Coast, focusing on coastal avian ecology. Students will gain hands-on experience in field ornithology, with a primary emphasis on field identification using both sight and sound. The course will explore various coastal habitats, including barrier island nesting sites, the Mobile-Tensaw River basin, local marshes, and other unique coastal ecosystems.
