FIRST YEAR MATHEMATICS SEMINAR

This seminar will provide a shared intellectual experience for incoming freshmen mathematics majors. It will serve as a focused and interactive forum to provide a glimpse into the world of mathematics that lies beyond elementary calculus. Each semester's symposium will be devoted to a specific mathematical topic. Writing about mathematics and explaining mathematical ideas to both “math people” and “non-math people” will be emphasized.
