Multiscale Material Design

This course covers an introduction to materials modeling, terminology, and fundamentals of modeling/simulations in engineering systems, modeling materials at atomic scales using molecular dynamics techniques, statistical methods, mesoscale simulations using phase-field, largescale simulations using continuum mechanics, and finite element method. It also provides basic training on the software tools used in the field – e.g., COMSOL, LAMMPS, VMD, ParaView.
