Ferrous Metallurgy

The Ferrous Metallurgy course is designed for students in the College of Engineering at The University of Alabama, particularly those interested in metallic materials and manufacturing, integrates theory, modeling, and hands-on learning. It introduces the history and primary processing of steels, followed by an in-depth study of steel phases and microstructures and the effects of thermal and thermomechanical processing, including transformation diagrams and common heat treatments.
