Jazz Perspectives

In this course students will study diverse genres, repertoires, discographies, and stylistic trends associated with jazz, with a focus on the Americas. The course scope includes current historiographic and analytical research perspectives, as well as relevant musicological perspectives intersecting with disciplines such as sociology, gender studies, aesthetics, and criticism.
