Counterpoint

Introduction to sixteenth-century vocal counterpoint. It provides an understanding of the common elements and organizational patterns of music in 16th century music. It helps students’ sufficient understanding of and capability with musical forms, processes, and structures. Knowledge and skill in composition, performance, and musical analysis will be provided. Students will develop a rudimentary capacity to create composition or improvisation on the topics.
