Mind and Nature

This course is an introduction to the philosophy of mind and epistemology (the philosophy of knowledge). It typically deals with two main problems. One is the mind/body problem, which includes the question of whether the mind and thought are something over and above the brain and physical world. The other is the problem of skepticism, which includes the question of whether knowledge of the physical world is possible.
