Philosophy of Mind

What is the relationship between the mental and the physical? That is the central question in the philosophy of mind, and students will approach it from different angles. Students will focus largely on consciousness and its place in nature. Most readings will be from the contemporary literature, but some will be historical. Writing proficiency is required for a passing grade in this course.
