This course concerns the nature of linguistic reference, meaning, and their connection to metaphysics, epistemology, and the philosophy of mind. Students will study classic works by Gottlob Frege, Bertrand Russell, Saul Kripke, and others. Students will also study more recent works by David Chalmers, Amie Thomasson, Jennifer Saul, and others. the instructors permission.
