Constitutional Law: Freedom of Speech

This course will examine freedom of expression from philosophical, legal, and political perspectives. Students will discuss and evaluate philosophical arguments for protecting freedom of expression, and arguments for regulating expression. The largest section of the course will review the U.S. Supreme Court’s interpretations of the First Amendment’s freedom of speech provision. The course will also investigate contemporary issues related to freedom of expression. PW: Global Engagement
