Reading Assessment and Intervention in Grades 4-8

This course focuses on classroom reading instruction to support children who are not making expected progress. Topics include: using formal and informal assessments; basic psychometric concepts; the nature and identification of literacy difficulties, including dyslexia; diagnostic assessment to guide intervention; reading intervention for children who are not meeting developmental benchmarks; and legal requirements of special populations.
