Literacy for the Early Years

This course is a field-based course that supports preservice teachers as they learn childhood learners. The course surveys concepts, principles, and best practices related language, phonological and phonemic awareness, print awareness, alphabetic knowledge, state learning standards. The course also includes an examination of explicit, research-based literacy skills to promote all learners' development of grade-level literacy skills.
