Intro to Soc & Behav Health

A primer to the interdisciplinary study of health-from the perspective of the social sciences-this course introduces the ways in which individual behavior and social factors shape health outcomes. It also exposes students to approaches for changing behavior and programs that promote health and attempt to prevent diseases. Students will learn the social and behavioral theories that are used to create health promotion programs, and how such programs are implemented.
