Examination of images and roles of women in Christianity and other major world religions. It includes the examination of religious ideology and its role in shaping social life, the many ways in which women exercise authority in religious traditions, the ways in which women have been innovative in those traditions, and the ways in which women have reinterpreted and re-appropriated patriarchal texts and structures.
