US Latino Literature

The purpose of the course is to present a body of works that are essential in the establishment and development of the literature written by Hispanics in the US. Although the main element in the course is the study of US Latino texts of different genres (essay, drama, poetry and fiction), students will also pay attention to socio-historical aspects aspects that are instrumental in contextualizing the literary text. Writing proficiency is required for a passing grade in this course.
