Film Directors Analysis I

This course explores a filmmaker-centered approach to the study of individual directors and examines how each utilize technique, craft and style to achieve effects in the telling of their film stories. Students trace the career of a different filmmaker every week, analyzing two of their feature films, one early career and one late career. Students analyze issues of technique, craft and voice of a variety of directors from every era, country, tradition and point of view.
