Alternative Film Poetics

This course covers group analysis of the narrative feature film structure — beginning with traditional Classical Hollywood formula, and eventually moving into international cinema that pushes the boundaries of the form. Students examine multiple films and filmmakers for their historical and cultural significance, while investigating the process in how the film was shaped from beginning to end.
