This class explores a selected sample of theatre performance styles. The global history of performance includes many different uses of language, movement, gesture, relationship-to-audience, and storytelling intention. Instructors lead students through a curated sample of performance literature that could include Greek, Asian, Jacobean, Shakespearean, Moliere, Comedy of Manners, African, Latinx, and Brecht.
