Contemporary Book Arts

This hands-on course provides an introduction to the concepts, aesthetics, and techniques of contemporary book arts. The class will explore fundamental elements of bookbinding and unique artistic book structures, and students will create work that has a narrative for the viewer. Students will discover a variety of contemporary artist book structures, develop basic hand skills, and consider how content and book structure work together in artists’ books.
