In both national and local governments, lobbying scandals make the news. Public corruption in national and state governments have caused public distrust in our democracy. Three impeached Presidents, a Vice President and two removed Speakers of the House of Representatives in Congress and convicted Congressmen were but a prelude for corruption and scandals in the states. Two Alabama Governors were convicted of corruption while the Speaker of the House was convicted from a 23- count indictment.
