Administrative Support

The Technical Certificate in Administrative Support prepares an individual to provide administrative support to office managers, administrative assistants, and other office personnel. It builds on the Certificate of Proficiency in Clerical Support and provides more advanced software application skills, basic accounting skills, and enhanced customer service skills.

Advanced Manufacturing Technology

The certificate of proficiency in Advanced Manufacturing prepares students for production-oriented jobs in automotive-related and other advanced manufacturing companies. This certificate program introduces students to advanced manufacturing processes and philosophies.

Advanced Manufacturing Technology

This program is designed for students who wish to pursue careers in automotive-related and other advanced manufacturing companies. The AAS in Advanced Manufacturing provides comprehensive knowledge of advanced manufacturing production processes, equipment, design, and operation, equipping individuals to move into maintenance technician and/or team leader positions.

Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (Certificate of Proficiency)

Air Conditioning, Heating, & Refrigeration Technology

Air Conditioning & Refrigeration

The one-year certificate in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration is designed to prepare students for careers in this trade. Students develop and practice skills for servicing, repairing, installing, and sizing air conditioning and refrigeration equipment for residential applications, and are required to take the HVAC Excellence EPA Section 608 Certification Exam.

Associate of Arts

The Associate of Arts Degree is designed for students who wish to complete the first two years of a baccalaureate degree and transfer to a senior institution. It requires successful completion of 60 credit hours with a minimum cumulative 2.00 GPA and a grade of C or above in English Composition I, English Composition II, and the degree math requirement.

Automation

The Automation Technology Certificate provides students with fundamental knowledge and hands-on experience in machine tools, automation, and CAD/CAM systems. The program emphasizes industry-relevant skills, preparing students for careers in manufacturing, robotics, and automated systems.

Aviation Airframe Maintenance

This program is designed for students who intend to become certified aviation mechanics but do not wish to obtain a college degree at this time. Students who successfully complete this program are eligible to take the FAA certification exams for Airframe Mechanic, Powerplant Mechanic, or both (A&P). The program is approved by the FAA.

Aviation Maintenance

This program is designed for students who intend to pursue careers in the aviation maintenance industry and other industries utilizing aircraft maintenance skills. The general education components prepare students to pursue baccalaureate studies. Students who successfully complete this program are eligible to take the FAA certification exams for Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanics.

Aviation Powerplant Maintenance

This program is designed for students who intend to become certified aviation mechanics but do not wish to obtain a college degree at this time. Students who successfully complete this program are eligible to take the FAA certification exams for Airframe Powerplant Mechanic. The program is approved by the FAA.

Business

The Associate of Science in Business Degree is designed for students who wish to complete the first two years of a business-related bachelor's degree and then transfer to a four-year college or university. This degree program includes both general education courses and core business courses.

Child Development

The Technical Certificate for Child Development is a one-year certificate that provides the student with the knowledge and skills needed to work with young children and the families they serve. Students gain necessary knowledge about child growth and learning and get hands-on field experiences. It builds on the certificate of proficiency and contains courses embedded in the AAS in Early Childhood Education.

Clerical Support

The Certificate of Proficiency in Clerical Support provides students with basic clerical skills necessary for entry-level office positions such as receptionists, file clerks, general office clerks, and data entry clerks. Students develop basic skills in keyboarding and data entry, records and information management, business correspondence, and software applications.

Data and AI Technologies

The Technical Certificate in Data & AI Technologies provides a comprehensive foundation in database management, data visualization, programming, and artificial intelligence. This one-year certificate equips students with skills to work in data-driven and AI-powered industries, with hands-on experience in database design, API development, machine learning, and Linux essentials.

Data Systems

Dental Assisting Technology

This 10.5-month Technical Certificate in Dental Assisting Technology is designed to train dental assisting students with the knowledge and technical skills necessary to practice as a Dental Assistant in the modern dental office. Upon completion, students are eligible to sit for the Dental Assisting National Board certification exam and to apply for registration with the Arkansas State Board of Dental Examiners.

Early Childhood Education

The Certificate of Proficiency in Early Childhood contains the foundation courses for a person wishing to pursue a career in early childhood (birth through preschool). Students learn about the Child Development Associate (CDA) application process and the necessary steps to obtain the CDA. ANC does not issue the CDA credential.

Early Childhood Education

This two-year Associate of Science Degree in Childhood Education is designed for the student who is interested in transferring to a senior institution and completing a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (K-6) or Midlevel education. It combines a broad background of courses in elementary education with concentration areas in addition to a sound liberal arts education. Offered in K-6 and Midlevel options.

Early Childhood Education (A.A.S.S.)

This two-year Associate of Applied Science Degree in Early Childhood Education is designed to provide training to students employed or interested in being employed in the child-care or public-school instructional assistance profession. Students complete college credit courses that educate, train, and provide field experience in the basic competencies of early childhood education.

Emergency Medical Technician

The Emergency Medical Technician Program is a one semester course that provides training to recognize, assess, and manage medical emergencies of acutely ill or injured patients in a pre-hospital care setting. Students who successfully complete the program are eligible to take the National Registry Examination.

Entrepreneurship

This certificate of proficiency introduces students to the concepts and processes involved with starting a new business venture. Students learn business terminology, basic market analysis, business plan development, and government rules and regulations associated with managing a small business venture, along with startup fees, sales tax reporting, and basic financial management.

General Aviation

This program is designed for students who desire to enter the aerospace industry, particularly in the field of aviation maintenance. The requirements satisfy the General Aviation eligibility portion for FAA certification exams for Airframe Mechanic or Powerplant Mechanic. The program is approved by the FAA.

General Education

General Industrial Technology

This certificate provides an alternative course of study for prospective students who do not initially meet all of the entrance qualifications of ANC. It develops basic skills and knowledge that could be useful in applying for a position with an industrial employer.

General Studies

The Associate of General Studies Degree is designed to provide flexibility to students whose needs cannot be met by an existing degree. It includes fully transferrable courses as well as individual courses that may fulfill requirements for transfer, direct employment, or educational enrichment. Students select one area of concentration: Pre-Allied Health, Arts/Humanities, Social Sciences, Math/Science, or Computer Technologies.

General Studies

The Certificate of General Studies is designed to recognize successful completion of specified general education core courses (first year of an AA/AGS transfer degree). Students must satisfy all assessment, remediation, and prerequisite course requirements.

General Technology

The Associate of Applied Science in General Technology allows the blending of a technical certificate with general education courses to form a degree that consists of applied technologies. It is offered with Air Conditioning & Refrigeration and Welding options, preparing students for careers in those trades.

Healthcare Essentials

The Certificate of Proficiency in Healthcare Essentials is designed to prepare high school students for entry level careers in healthcare. The required courses offer training and experiences over four semesters, allowing students to explore an introduction to health professions and anatomy and physiology, and earn the embedded CP in Patient Care Technology.

HVAC Electrical

The short-term certificate of proficiency in HVAC Electrical is designed to provide students the skills for an entry level technician position and is the first step in the career ladder for HVAC technicians. Students learn the basics of HVAC electricity and the fundamentals of HVAC, plus workplace skills to make them more employable.

Industrial Electrical Systems

The Technical Certificate in Industrial Electrical Systems fits within the Associate of Applied Science in Steel Industry Technology. Students gain advanced knowledge and coursework of electrical systems that builds on the Certificate of Proficiency in Industrial Electrical Systems.

The Certificate of Proficiency in Machine Tools and Technology provides students with foundational knowledge and hands-on experience in machining processes, precision measurement, and industrial safety, designed for individuals seeking entry-level employment in manufacturing, machining, and related industries.

Medication Assistant

Nursing

ANC offers an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing. The registered nursing program is approved by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing and accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. Upon successful completion, students are granted the AAS degree and may be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN for licensure as a Registered Nurse.

Nursing Assistant

Successful completion of the Nursing Assistant program qualifies students to work as nursing assistants in hospitals, long term care facilities, rest homes, or convalescent homes. The Nursing Assistant Competency Exam provides opportunity for graduates to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Students also complete a medical terminology course.

The Associate of Applied Science in Office Management provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in administrative positions in a wide variety of office settings. Students gain a foundation in general education as well as information management, business communications, computer applications, and accounting, and develop interpersonal, leadership, and decision-making skills.

The Certificate of Proficiency in Patient Care Technician provides classroom, lab, and clinical instruction for students seeking an entry-level position in healthcare providing direct patient care, drawing labs, and performing electrocardiograms. Graduates are eligible to test for certification (CPCT/A) through the National Healthcare Association.

Phlebotomy

Phlebotomy Technician

The Phlebotomy Technician course prepares students for entry level competencies as phlebotomists in hospitals, clinics, blood donor centers, and other health care settings. Students develop skills in performing phlebotomy procedures, specimen collection, and processing using proper techniques and universal precautions, including a clinical practicum.

Practical Nursing

The Technical Certificate in Practical Nursing (PN) is a 10.5 month program approved by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing that prepares students for the field of Practical Nursing. The program integrates clinical experience with classroom theory, lab, and simulation, with clinical experience in acute care hospitals, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare facilities.

Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)

The one semester certificate is for students who want to learn Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) processes, which occur when an electric arc forms between consumable wire and the welded metal using both direct and alternating current power sources. Students learn welding techniques, proper tool use, power supply, and properties of welded metals.

Steel Industry Technology

This program is designed for students who wish to pursue careers in the steel industry or manufacturing processes that require specialized job and skill knowledge. Applied knowledge acquired through this program pertains particularly to steel-related industries but is also relevant to any advanced manufacturing enterprise.

The Technical Certificate in Teaching is a designed pathway for students wanting to pursue a career in teaching elementary education. Students gain the foundational knowledge and field experiences needed to work with school age children. The certificate recognizes 15 hours of specific education coursework as well as 16 hours of general education coursework required on the Associate of Arts in Teaching.

Teaching

The Associate of Arts in Teaching is a statewide transfer degree that introduces students to the profession of teaching, transferable toward a specified baccalaureate degree in teacher education at participating Arkansas universities. It is designed to align with Arkansas state licensure requirements and consists of 63 semester credit hours.

The Certificate of Proficiency in Teaching is a 9-credit hour credential designed for students wanting to enter the teaching profession. This CP helps create a beginning pathway for students wanting to obtain higher credentials in education and eventually obtain a teaching license, gaining field experience and knowledge about teaching roles and responsibilities.

Tungsten Inert Gas Welding (TIG)

Students who want to earn this one semester certificate learn the principles and processes used in Tungsten Inert Gas Welding, including the different types of metals used in TIG welding, the power sources, melting temperatures, and welding machine operations.

Welding

The one-year certificate in Welding is designed for students wishing to secure marketable welding skills. Through an organized progression of steps, the student builds ability with the different welding processes offered. Progression is competency based and Welder Qualification is available.
