Accounting

Accounting is often referred to as the language of business, because the primary function of accounting is to provide key financial information to business stakeholders to be used in assessing the economic performance and condition of a business. Upon completion of the required courses, the student will earn a one-year Certificate of Achievement from BBCC.

Accounting Principles Proficiency

Accounting Principles Proficiency is a Certificate of Accomplishment awarded by Big Bend Community College. The Certificate of Accomplishment is designed to provide recognition for the student who does not plan to complete a degree program but is interested in training and instruction in specialized areas. Students record business transactions in traditional accounting journals using common accounting practices.

Accounting Technician

The Accounting Technician program is designed to develop proficiencies and skills necessary to obtain entry-level employment in bookkeeping and accounting career paths. Jobs are available in corporate offices, industrial plants, mortgage and commercial banks, investment firms, insurance offices, real estate offices, retailing operations, and in general, any small business.

Administrative Assistant

Administrative Assistant is a Certificate of Achievement awarded by Big Bend Community College. The Certificate of Achievement is designed to provide recognition for the student who does not plan to complete an AAS degree program. Upon completion of the required courses, the student will earn a Certificate of Achievement from BBCC.

Administrative Professional Services

This option emphasizes the need for quality customer service, human relations, communication, and technology skills in the office, where employment opportunities increase significantly for those who have these essential skills and can assume responsibility and perform a variety of office functions.

Agricultural Agronomy

Agronomy is the science of soil management and crop production. Upon completion of the required courses, the student will earn a Certificate of Achievement.

Agricultural Mechanics Technology

The AAS in Agriculture Mechanics Technology prepares students to service and repair agricultural equipment. Students will gain mechanical, welding, hydraulic, drivetrain, diesel and electrical skills, and will earn a Forklift Operator Certificate.

Agriculture Business

Agricultural business is a large sector of the agriculture industry. Upon completion of the required courses, the student will earn a Certificate of Achievement.

Agriculture Mechanic Technology

Agriculture Mechanic Technology is a Certificate of Achievement awarded by Big Bend Community College. The Certificate of Achievement is designed to provide recognition for the student who does not plan to complete an AAS degree program. Students are exposed to mechanical, welding, hydraulic, drivetrain and electrical skills used in the agricultural equipment industry.

Agriculture Transfer

This AAS-T degree program is designed to give students a transfer pathway in agriculture. The transfer pathway allows students to seamlessly transfer to Washington State University and earn a bachelor's degree in agriculture.

Ag Technology & Management

BBCC provides students interested in Agricultural Technology and Management a comprehensive Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree with two customized pathways intended to provide graduates with the skills needed to independently operate or support local, regional, and national agriculture industries. The degree plan specifically outlines pathways for students interested in specializing in Agricultural Business or Agronomy.

Aircraft Solo

Aircraft Solo is a Certificate of Accomplishment awarded by Big Bend Community College. Students who complete specialized areas of flight will be awarded Certificates of Accomplishment from BBCC. The Certificate of Accomplishment is designed to provide recognition for the student who does not plan to complete a degree program but is interested in training and instruction in specialized areas.

Airframe Maintenance Technician

Airframe Maintenance Technician is a Certificate of Achievement awarded by Big Bend Community College. The Certificate of Achievement is designed to provide recognition for the student who does not plan to complete an AAS degree program. Applied Management

The Bachelor of Applied Science in Applied Management (BAS-AM) degree builds upon any associate degree by adding junior and senior year courses focused on applied management. The program provides customized, high-demand management skills courses geared toward the needs of various industry sectors in the local economy, and students complete an Applied Management Capstone project in the final year.

Arts & Science

The Associate in Arts & Science Direct Transfer Agreement degree is intended for transfer to a university. Washington community and technical colleges offer reciprocity to students transferring within the CTC system who are pursuing this degree.

Aviation Maintenance Technology

The Aviation Maintenance Technology program is certificated by the Federal Aviation Administration. BBCC courses and curriculum prepare students to test for the FAA Airframe and Powerplant mechanic certificates.

Basic Office Computing

Basic Office Computing is a Certificate of Accomplishment awarded by Big Bend Community College. The Certificate of Accomplishment is designed to provide recognition for the student who does not plan to complete a degree program but is interested in training and instruction in specialized areas.

Behavioral Health

The BAS-Behavioral Health program is delivered in partnership between Big Bend Community College and Wenatchee Valley College, with students co-enrolled at both colleges. The degree includes courses in Human Services, Cultural and Social Issues in Behavioral Healthcare, Case Management, Therapeutic Skills, and Treatment of Mental Health Disorders, and a three-quarter senior field experience with a local behavioral health clinic.

Biology

This pathway is applicable to students planning to prepare for upper division Bachelor's degree majors in Biology. A degree in biological sciences opens the door to a wide variety of choices, from the health sciences to environmental technology, from biomedical research to wildlife biology.

Business

Students intending to transfer to a baccalaureate institution and major in Business Administration have two degree options: the Business DTA or the Associate in Arts and Science DTA. Completing all of the prescribed courses listed for the Business DTA will enable students to be major ready when they transfer to any public baccalaureate institution in the state of Washington.

Cisco Networking

This certificate prepares students to become a Cisco Certified Network Associate. Credits earned apply toward the Associate in Applied Science degree.

The Certificate of Accomplishment is designed to provide recognition for the student who does not plan to complete a degree program but is interested in training and instruction in specialized areas. Commercial Driver's License

A shortage of long-haul drivers prompted the creation of Big Bend Community College's Commercial Truck Driving Program. This 4-6 week course provides classroom study and 160 hours of driving instruction experience, and prepares students for the CDL driving examination and entry-level employment.

Commercial Pilot

The Commercial Pilot/Flight program prepares students for careers as professional pilots. Students may earn both the AA&S and the AAS degrees during the two-year program.

Computerized Accounting Applications

Computerized Accounting Applications is a Certificate of Accomplishment awarded by Big Bend Community College. The Certificate of Accomplishment is designed to provide recognition for the student who does not plan to complete a degree program but is interested in training and instruction in specialized areas.

Computer Science

Big Bend Community College offers the Associate in Computer Science DTA/MRP degree to prepare students for transfer to a four-year university and complete a bachelor's degree in Computer Science. A computer science bachelor's degree prepares students to work in careers such as software development, computer programming, and scientific computing.

Criminal Justice

The Criminal Justice Workforce Program is designed to develop the proficiencies and skills necessary to obtain entry-level employment in Criminal Justice related career paths. Job possibilities after completing this degree include entry-level police officer, corrections officer in a prison or jail, or other criminal justice job that requires a 2-year degree or less.

Customer Service Associate

Customer Service Associate is a Certificate of Achievement awarded by Big Bend Community College. The Certificate of Achievement is designed to provide recognition for the student who does not plan to complete an AAS degree program. Upon completion of the required courses, the student will earn a Certificate of Achievement from BBCC.

Desktop Support Specialist

Desktop Support Specialist is a Certificate of Accomplishment awarded by Big Bend Community College. The Certificate of Accomplishment is designed to provide recognition for the student who does not plan to complete a degree program but is interested in training and instruction in specialized areas. Earned credits apply toward the Associate in Applied Science degree.

Early Childhood Education (AAS)

The coursework in the Associate in Applied Science in Early Childhood Education degree meets Level 3-Steps 8 and 9 on the Career Lattice. Students who complete the AAS in ECE may work with children birth to age eight as in-home or center-based child care providers, administrators, lead or assistant preschool teachers, or paraeducators in public schools.

Early Childhood Education (AAS-T)

Big Bend Community College and Eastern Washington University developed an articulation agreement to transfer the Associate in Applied Science Transfer (AAS-T) degree from BBCC into the Education program to complete a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education with Preschool-Grade 3 teaching certification at EWU. In addition to completing the AAS-T degree, students must also complete the West B Exam prior to acceptance into the ECE program at EWU.

This certificate represents Step 7 on the Washington State Career Lattice for early childhood educators. The credits earned in the State Early Childhood Education Certificate apply toward the Associate in Applied Science in Early Childhood Education degree.

General Studies

The Associate in General Studies degree is one of the degrees BBCC offers for direct entry into the workforce or for entering a bachelor of applied science program. Courses numbered 050-099 may be applied toward graduation from BBCC under the Associate in General Studies degree only.

Instrument Pilot

Instrument Pilot is a Certificate of Accomplishment awarded by Big Bend Community College. Students who complete specialized areas of flight will be awarded Certificates of Accomplishment from BBCC. The Certificate of Accomplishment is designed to provide recognition for the student who does not plan to complete a degree program but is interested in training and instruction in specialized areas.

Medical Assisting

The MA Certificate of Achievement prepares students with the administrative and clinical skills used in a healthcare setting that often includes multitasking, problem solving and the ability to work as a team with other healthcare professionals.

Medical Assisting

The MA program prepares students with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to obtain an entry level position as a national and state certified Medical Assistant. Completion of this program leads to roles in clinics, urgent care facilities and some larger hospitals.

Medical Office and Billing Support Services

This option is designed for students who are interested in specializing in medical office administration and billing. This degree consists of a combination of medical knowledge, accounting and business skills, and computer applications.

Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI)

Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI) is a Certificate of Accomplishment awarded by Big Bend Community College. Students who complete specialized areas of flight will be awarded Certificates of Accomplishment from BBCC. The Certificate of Accomplishment is designed to provide recognition for the student who does not plan to complete a degree program but is interested in training and instruction in specialized areas.

Nursing

Nursing education presents concepts from the humanities, life and social sciences, and biological and physical sciences, and promotes competency-based learning at all levels of nursing practice. Successful completion of this three-year degree prepares the student to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).

Nursing Assistant

The Nursing Assistant Program is a one-quarter Certificate of Accomplishment. Students demonstrate teamwork, ethics, appropriate safety awareness and workplace specific skills.

Office Assistant

Simulator Training

Simulator Training is a Certificate of Accomplishment awarded by Big Bend Community College. Students who complete specialized areas of flight will be awarded Certificates of Accomplishment from BBCC. The Certificate of Accomplishment is designed to provide recognition for the student who does not plan to complete a degree program but is interested in training and instruction in specialized areas.

Systems Administration

The Certificate of Achievement is designed for the student who does not plan to complete an AAS degree program. Earned credits apply toward the Associate in Applied Science degree.

Systems Administration

The Systems Administration program prepares students for careers in network systems and administration. Network administrators install and maintain computer workstations and server software, set up user accounts, maintain system resources and operations, troubleshoot systems and network problems, and manage system security.

Welding Technology (Certificate of Accomplishment)

Welding Technology is a Certificate of Accomplishment awarded by Big Bend Community College. The Certificate of Accomplishment is designed to provide recognition for the student who does not plan to complete an AAS degree or a Certificate of Achievement. Students who complete the first year of the program will gain sufficient training to obtain entry-level employment.

Welding Technology (Certificate of Achievement)

Welding Technology is a Certificate of Achievement awarded by Big Bend Community College. The Certificate of Achievement is designed to provide recognition for the student who does not plan to complete an Associate in Applied Science degree. The one-year welding certificate of achievement is available for students who do not wish to complete a two-year degree.

Welding Technology: Pipe Welding

The Welding Technology program is designed for persons to acquire the technical knowledge and skills required to obtain a career in welding, fabrication, and related occupations. The second year of the program focuses on advanced skills in welding applications in specialty areas, including pipe welding.

Welding Technology: Production Welding

The Welding Technology program is designed for persons to acquire the technical knowledge and skills required to obtain a career in welding, fabrication, and related occupations. The second year of the program focuses on advanced skills in welding applications in specialty areas, including industrial production welding.

The Welding Technology program is designed for persons to acquire the technical knowledge and skills required to obtain a career in welding, fabrication, and related occupations. The second year of the program focuses on advanced skills in welding applications in specialty areas, including structural welding.
