Biblical Studies

A two-year graduate program in which students identify and understand intermediate and advanced terms and concepts in the biblical studies disciplines and integrate them into life, worship, and service within the urban church. The educational goal of the MABS program is professional church employment as pastor or teacher, or pursuing a terminal degree. The program offers three concentrations: New Testament, Old Testament and Theology.

Biblical Studies

The Certificate of Biblical Studies is designed to help the learner wanting a deeper understanding of Scripture, whether to teach or deepen their own spiritual understanding within the local church or parachurch ministry. Coursework leads to an Associate and a Bachelor Degree in Biblical Studies.

Biblical Studies

A four-year degree in which students identify and understand basic and intermediate terms and concepts in the biblical studies disciplines and synthesize them into life, worship, and specific contexts within urban ministry. The educational goal of the BABS program is to prepare students for leadership in church teaching positions, mission field work, or to serve as a basis for ongoing education. Concentrations are offered in Bible, Biblical Languages and Theology.

Biblical Studies

A two-year program of study covering basic terms and concepts in the biblical studies disciplines, including methods, interpretations, and difficulties within those disciplines. The goal for the graduate of the AABS is to go on to a BA in Biblical Studies or, secondarily, to become involved in an entry level leadership position within a church ministry setting.

Christian Counseling

The Certificate of Christian Counseling is designed to provide laity with tools needed to assist their pastor and church in meeting a portion of the spiritual counseling needs of the local congregation. Coursework leads to an associate and Bachelor Degree in UCM Christian Counseling Concentration.

Divinity

A three-year graduate program in which students deepen Christian maturity through spiritual disciplines, apply the Bible, biblical languages, and proper hermeneutics within contemporary urban ministerial contexts, and demonstrate practical skills of ministry. The educational goal of the Master of Divinity Program is to prepare Master Level students for vocational chaplaincy, pastoral counseling or pastoral ministry.

Lay Leadership

The Certificate of Lay Leadership is designed to provide laity with tools needed to assist their pastor and church in leadership roles of the local congregation. Coursework could lead to a Bachelor Degree in Pastoral Studies.

Ministry

The Doctor of Ministry Program is both a terminal and practical degree designed to assist those who are already in ministry strengthen their academic and practical skills by upgrading four pastoral related competencies (pulpit, spiritual, leadership and urban), with the view towards increasing their effectiveness in an urban, multicultural environment.

Pastoral Ministry

The Certificate of Pastoral Ministry is designed to provide the adult learner as a fundamental step in preparing for the associate or assistant level of ministerial service to assist their pastor and church in the ministerial duties. Coursework leads to a Bachelor Degree in Pastoral Studies.

Pastoral Studies

A stand-alone four-year degree in which students demonstrate personal faith through spiritual disciplines and apply the Bible, biblical languages, and proper hermeneutics within contemporary urban ministerial contexts. The educational goal of the BAPS program is to prepare students for employment in church ministry positions, mission field work, or to serve as a basis for ongoing education.

Urban Christian Ministries

A four-year degree in which students analyze and evaluate systemic issues that plague and prevent the empowerment of urban communities and integrate concepts from Urban Christian Studies into empowering and sustaining communities. The educational goal of the BAUCM program is to prepare students for employment in church teaching positions, mission field work, or to serve as a basis for ongoing education. Concentrations are offered in Christian Education, Counseling and Cross-Cultural Studies.

Urban Christian Ministries

A two-year program covering basic and intermediate terms and concepts in Urban Christian Studies and the systemic issues that plague and prevent the empowerment of urban communities. The goal for the graduate of the AAUCM is to go on to a BA in Urban Christian Ministries or, secondarily, to become involved in an entry level leadership position within a church ministry setting.

Urban Christian Ministry

A two-year graduate program in which students analyze and evaluate systemic issues that plague and prevent the empowerment of urban communities and integrate concepts and structures from Urban Christian Studies into empowering and sustaining communities. The educational goal of the MAUCM program is professional church employment, church planter, or pursuing further education, either for a Master of Divinity or other advanced seminary degree.

Urban Ministry

The Certificate of Urban Ministry is designed to provide the adult learner with a fundamental step in understanding urban ministry and how it affects the church and other faith-based ministries. Coursework leads to an Associate and a Bachelor Degree in Urban Christian Ministries. Employment opportunities include: Non-Profit Management or Non-Profit Entrepreneurship.
