Health Care Administration

Graduates of the Heath Care Administration program are important members of the health care community. They work closely with an array of health care providers to ensure that patients receive quality service and care. This program prepares individuals to develop, plan and manage health care operations and services within health care facilities and across health care systems, with instruction focused on health care finance and economics, managed care, and quality standards.

Health Science

Today's healthcare job market is expanding rapidly and there is an immediate need for health science professionals to support the growth. The Associate of Science in Health Science (ASHS) program offers a flexible curriculum focused on the health sciences to prepare a student for continuing postsecondary education in a medical or science program or a career in healthcare.

Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant Certificate program is taught over three (3) semesters to prepare students for entry-level positions in ambulatory health care settings such as physician offices and outpatient clinics. Content areas include medical law and ethics, medical terminology, basic clinical techniques, administrative functions, and adhering to safety and emergency procedures.

Medical Reimbursement

The Medical Reimbursement Certificate program at Good Samaritan College of Nursing and Health Science (GSC) is designed to prepare students for an entry-level career in the medical revenue cycle industry as medical billers and coders.

Nursing

The pre-licensure nursing curriculum provides a background in principles of nursing, the biological, physical, and behavioral sciences as well as liberal arts. This rigorous academic curriculum ensures that our graduates are well prepared to function as a beginning professional nurse. The aim of the AASN Program is to education professional nurses to meet the healthcare needs of a changing society.

Nursing, LPN to RN Option

Advanced standing (for prior nursing courses or transfer credit) for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) in nursing is available. To be eligible, an applicant must meet the admissions requirements for the College and for the AASN program, present a valid, unencumbered PN license, complete all pre-requisite courses, and successfully complete the approved NUR 150 LPN to AASN Transition Course. After successful completion of this course, 9 credit hours will be awarded for NUR 101 and NUR 102.

Nursing, Practical Nurse

The certificate nursing curriculum provides a foundation in the principles of nursing. The rigorous academic curriculum ensures that our graduates are well prepared to function as beginning licensed practical nurses. The PN program aims to educate professional nurses to meet the healthcare needs of a changing society.

Nursing, RN to BSN Completion Program

The GSC Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program challenges women and men to strive for intellectual and professional excellence, to build inclusive communities, and to promote social responsibility. The program is designed for adult learners who prefer a combination of guided independent study, peer learning, and faculty-facilitated on-site learning in a collegial environment with faculty and students.

Radiologic Technology

The Associate of Science degree in Radiologic Technology prepares graduates for the safe operation of x-ray equipment in diagnostic imaging settings under the supervision of a radiologist. Students in the program study under a registered radiological technologist to develop the skills needed to produce quality images of human tissues, organs, bones and vessels using imaging equipment in an integrated plan of classroom, laboratory and clinical training.

Surgical Technology

Surgical technologists are allied health professionals who are integral to medical teams providing surgical care. The Associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology program is designed according to the core curriculum requirement for surgical technology, meaning that students learn the essential concepts in healthcare sciences, including anatomy and physiology, pharmacology and anesthesia, medical terminology, microbiology, and pathophysiology.
