Art

Biochemistry

The Biochemistry major develops knowledge of the fundamental principles of biology and of organic, analytical, biological, and physical chemistry. Students apply the concepts of biology and chemistry to critically analyze primary scientific literature and use the principles and techniques of biochemistry to perform an independent research investigation.

Biology

The Biology major builds mastery of the breadth of undergraduate biological sciences, including cellular biology, genetics, organismal structure and function, and the interaction of organisms within their environment. Students apply the scientific process to biological problems and communicate research effectively with professionals in the field. Concentrations include General Biology, Pre-Medicine, Pre-Physical Therapy, Pre-Physician's Assistant, and Medical Laboratory Science.

Biotechnology

The Biotechnology major provides a comprehensive understanding of core concepts including molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, and chemistry. Students develop the laboratory skills essential for biotechnology benchwork, proficiency in written and oral scientific communication, and critical thinking to develop innovative solutions to complex biological and technological problems.

Business Administration

The Master of Business Administration program prepares today's managers to become tomorrow's leaders, with a curriculum designed to help students reach their highest potential in the corporate environment. The program consists of 10 three-credit courses, totaling 30 credits, offered in an online, asynchronous modality. Optional specializations are available in Finance, Healthcare Administration, Human Resources Management, and Leadership.

Business Administration

Business Analytics

The Business Analytics major teaches students to use current statistical packages and languages to manipulate, analyze, and visualize data and to apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to identify trends. Students construct database systems and specialized storage frameworks for large datasets and develop data-driven business decisions and strategies.

Child Life Specialist

The 10-month, fully online Child Life Specialist Certificate Program provides a comprehensive foundation of coursework related to the growth and development of healthy and hospitalized children and adolescents. This 10-course program is intended for students who have already completed a bachelor's degree in a related field and prepares them to become eligible to sit for the Child Life Professional Certification Exam.

Computed Tomography

This post-primary certificate track offers didactic and clinical courses in Computed Tomography for currently certified radiologic technologists. The track is available part-time with online didactic courses and clinical education placement that satisfies ARRT Structured Education requirements, and all courses can be applied toward a BSRS degree.

Computer Information Systems

The Computer Information Systems major develops proficiency with a variety of computer languages, methodologies, and platforms, and the ability to apply the correct methodologies for systems development. Students also identify and explore future trends within the computing area. The program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

Counseling Psychology

The program provides students with the opportunity to develop the skills required to practice as professional counselors with expertise in community, private, school, correctional, or higher education settings, using a scholar-practitioner training model. It is built around a central core curriculum with concentrations in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling.

Counseling Psychology

The PsyD program is committed to a practitioner-scholar training model that is evidence-based and practice informed, utilizing interventions that reflect the foundational values of the discipline of Counseling Psychology. The program develops psychologists who make a difference through scholarship, teaching, activism and research, and prepares graduates to become license-eligible psychologists in the State of Pennsylvania. The program is APA-accredited on contingency status.

Creative Writing

The low-residency MFA is based on one-on-one mentoring relationships between students and faculty, and requires limited time on campus so students can complete the degree from anywhere in the world. The mission of the program is to prepare graduates to publish and work within the diverse field of creative writing through faculty mentorship, immersive experiential learning, and rigorous craft-focused instruction. Students produce a creative thesis in a primary genre of study.

Criminal Justice

Students apply theoretical perspectives to explain crime and deviance, evaluate the structure and function of the components of the criminal justice system, and analyze criminological theories and crime control policies in their social, political, and economic context. The program emphasizes methodological and analytical skills and professional competence in criminal justice settings.

Cybersecurity Administration

The Cybersecurity Administration major develops critical thinking and problem-solving skills across a wide range of cybersecurity challenges. Cybersecurity and IT Management

The Cybersecurity and IT Management major combines cybersecurity expertise with information technology management. Early Childhood Education

The Associate of Arts Degree Program in Education prepares students to critically reflect on the social and cultural aspects of education and to analyze the interplay between lesson planning, lesson execution, and the classroom environment. Students study the range of child development, including specific learning and development needs, and the characteristics and diversity of children's families and communities.

Education with Pennsylvania Certification, Level I in PK-4

This program provides individuals who have undergraduate degrees in fields other than education with the opportunity to pursue a career in teaching grades PK-4. While earning a Master of Education degree, students also meet Pennsylvania state requirements for PK-4 teacher certification. The culminating experience requires a full-time semester of supervised field experience in a PK-4 classroom.

Education with Pennsylvania Certification, Level I in Secondary Education (7-12)

This program provides individuals who have undergraduate degrees in fields such as Biology, English, Mathematics, or the Social Studies with the opportunity to pursue a career in teaching grades 7-12. While earning a Master of Education degree, students also meet Pennsylvania state requirements for 7-12 teacher certification in Biology, English, Mathematics, or Social Studies.

Education with Pennsylvania Certification, Level I in Special Education PK-12

This program provides individuals who have undergraduate degrees in fields other than education with the opportunity to pursue a career in teaching special education in grades PK-12. While earning a Master of Education degree, students also meet Pennsylvania state requirements for Special Education PK-12 teacher certification. The culminating experience requires a full-time semester of supervised student teaching in a special education classroom.

Emergency Medical Services and Leadership

The Emergency Medical Services and Leadership program prepares students for roles in emergency medicine and for specialized leadership roles beyond basic healthcare provider, paramedic, or EMT positions. The program provides advanced knowledge, practical skills, and leadership training, integrating clinical expertise, operational knowledge, and leadership principles to prepare graduates to manage teams, improve systems, and provide high-quality patient care.

English

The English major teaches students to analyze works representative of the major literary genres, connect texts to literary, cultural, and historical contexts, and evaluate the ethical and spiritual values set forth in literary works. Students produce original scholarship and original creative work in fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and drama, and develop professional skills through experiential learning.

Essentials in Elementary Perioperative Nursing Practice

This introductory course in perioperative nursing practice is designed to facilitate the articulation of the nursing graduate or experienced RN to a professional operating room nurse through classroom and preceptored clinical experiences. The course focuses on developing perioperative nursing skills with peer support and continuous feedback. Open to senior level nursing students or current Registered Nurses.

Exercise Science

The Exercise Science major develops a comprehensive understanding of the scientific principles underlying human anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, exercise physiology, and motor learning. Students apply knowledge of exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle factors to promote health and prevent disease, and design and implement evidence-based exercise prescriptions for individuals across the lifespan.

Healthcare Administration and Management

The Healthcare Administration and Management major develops critical thinking skills across a range of healthcare issues and the ability to create and articulate clear plans for strategic change. Students demonstrate robust quantitative decision-making skills and explain a wide range of healthcare concepts.

Health Sciences

The Associate of Science in Health Sciences program prepares students to assume roles in health-related fields through a curriculum developed as part of the Health Sciences Academy at Holy Family University. Foundation courses such as anatomy, physiology, psychology, health promotion and wellness, sociology, nutrition, and human development serve as building blocks for courses in the major.

History

The History major covers ancient, medieval, American, and modern world history along with history seminars, an internship, and coursework in geography and political science. Students must also successfully complete a comprehensive examination.

Integrated Health Promotion

The Integrated Health Promotion (HPWE) program prepares students to assume roles as wellness and health promotion professionals in private business, community organizations, and healthcare agencies. The curriculum stresses key health concerns identified by Healthy People 2030 and focuses on strategies to promote healthy behaviors and lifestyles. The program includes a two-semester internship with an off-campus industry leader in promoting healthy lifestyles and wellness.

Interdisciplinary Humanities

The Interdisciplinary Humanities major requires one course in each of the core areas of Literature, History, Art, Philosophy, and Religion, plus a concentration, two seminar courses, five electives in the major, an internship, and a comprehensive exam. Students demonstrate a broad base of knowledge in at least three Humanities content areas and integrate knowledge across them to think critically about social issues.

Magnetic Resonance

Marketing

The Marketing major develops critical marketing knowledge and specialized marketing skills. Students master marketing strategies and learn to create marketing plans through coursework in digital marketing, advertising and promotion, consumer behavior, and marketing research.

Mathematics

The Mathematics major builds mastery of calculus, linear and abstract algebra, discrete mathematics, probability and statistics, and introductory real analysis. Students apply mathematical concepts to real-world applications, use technology for visualization, simulation, and computation, and complete an independent research project under a faculty mentor.

Neuroscience

The Neuroscience major integrates psychology, biology, and neuroscience so that students can evaluate major concepts, theoretical perspectives, and empirical findings across these domains. Students apply basic research methods including research design, data analysis, interpretation, and scientific writing, and analyze the principles of neural science from molecular, mechanistic, systems, and bio-behavioral perspectives.

Nursing

The Post Master's Certificate program is designed for experienced professionals who already hold a master's degree in nursing and wish to specialize further in a particular field. Tracks are offered in Family Nurse Practitioner, Education, and Leadership, and a gap analysis determines the optimum curricular plan of study for each individual student. The FNP practicum requires a minimum of 750 supervised clinical hours.

Nursing

The MSN program is designed following the AACN Essentials of Nursing Education (2021) to prepare nurse leaders to advance nursing practice within the healthcare system. Offered in an asynchronous online format, the program includes specialty tracks in Education, Leadership, and Family Nurse Practitioner. Graduates are prepared to progress to doctoral-level advanced practice programs or to post-master's certificate programs.

Nursing Practice

The Bachelor of Science in Nutrition program is built upon a foundation of core nutrition courses and natural science requirements for students aiming to become Registered Dietitians. Philosophy, Political Science, Economics and Sociology

The PPES major equips students with knowledge, skills, and methods from the disciplines of philosophy, political science, economics, and sociology. Students synthesize philosophical theories, political institutions, markets, and social arrangements into a coherent framework, complete a summative research project, and participate in a professional learning experience.

Professional Sales and Marketing

The Professional Sales and Marketing major teaches students to apply the principles of relationship-driven selling to sales activities, choose the correct approach to manage sales teams, and provide critical feedback about the selling practices of others. Coursework combines marketing fundamentals with professional sales and negotiation courses.

Psychology

The Psychology major covers the major concepts, theoretical perspectives, and empirical findings in learning, cognition, biological bases of behavior, development, and individual differences. Radiologic Science

The Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Science (BSRS) program is available on a full-time or part-time basis with flexible scheduling to accommodate working radiologic science professionals. Radiologic Science

The Associate of Science in Radiologic Science (ASRS) program is a full-time professional degree program completed over 20 months. The curriculum establishes eligibility for the national certification examination in Radiography through the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT), preparing graduates to work in hospitals, outpatient centers, physician's offices, mobile x-ray companies, research, and industry.

Religious Studies

The Religious Studies major invites students to examine their world view by comparing insights of various religious and theological traditions and to investigate the method, sources, and vocabulary of theological inquiry. Superintendent Letter of Eligibility

This post-master's certificate program prepares experienced educational leaders for the Pennsylvania Superintendent Letter of Eligibility through coursework in ethical leadership, building community relations, leadership internships, and leadership in an inclusive society. Applicants are expected to have an earned master's degree and to hold a PA Principal or Supervisory certification.

Supply Chain Management

The Supply Chain Management major teaches students to quantitatively forecast inventory needs, build logistics plans to meet demand, and critically assess the costs and logistical requirements of setting up a physical goods supply chain.
