Clinical Mental Health Counseling

The MS degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) is designed for graduates of an accredited bachelor's degree program interested in pursuing licensure as a mental health counselor in New York State. This 60-credit graduate program is registered with the New York State Board for Mental Health Counseling as meeting the educational requirements for licensure with diagnostic privilege.

General Studies

The General Studies degree is designed for students who wish to enter a career program but lack the prerequisites needed for acceptance into the program. It is also designed for students who wish to pursue postsecondary education for enrichment or to further develop career goals.

Health and Occupational Sciences

The BS in Health and Occupational Sciences is designed for students who wish to work in a variety of health services settings, or who wish to pursue a pathway to a profession in occupational therapy. The program provides students who complete the Occupational Therapy Assistant Associate in Applied Science degree with the option to pursue a bachelor's degree which will prepare them for graduate study in occupational therapy.

Healthcare Management

The purpose of the BS in Healthcare Management is to prepare students for mid-level management positions in a variety of healthcare settings. Developed to provide a balance among the technological, clinical, and business sides of healthcare, the major develops strong generalists equipped with the knowledge needed to succeed in today's healthcare environment. A required internship provides relevant work experience with professional practitioners.

Liberal Arts

The BA in Liberal Arts is a multipurpose degree providing students the opportunity to pursue a well-rounded education by exploring courses in a wide range of content areas within the liberal arts. A concentration in communication studies or government studies allows students to explore a liberal arts specialization in greater depth. A required internship and capstone coursework augment classroom learning and prepare students for employment or graduate study.

Liberal Arts

The Liberal Arts Degree is a multipurpose degree providing students the opportunity to pursue a well-rounded education by exploring courses in a wide range of areas, such as Psychology, English, and Science; to sample various disciplines to determine their educational futures; or to prepare themselves for continued study towards a baccalaureate degree.

Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant Certificate Program prepares students for dynamic roles in healthcare by combining classroom instruction with hands-on clinical experience. The program equips students with essential skills in patient care, such as taking vital signs and assisting with procedures, and administrative competencies including medical record management and scheduling.

Nursing

The nursing curriculum fosters a transfer of nursing theory to the art and science of patient care, integrating clinical practice and laboratory experiences with formal classroom work. Nursing courses are offered during the day, evening, and weekend, with clinical practice experiences conducted at a variety of facilities. Graduates of the ADN program are eligible to take the National Council Licensing Examination-RN (NCLEX-RN).

Occupational Therapy

The Master of Occupational Therapy Program prepares students with a robust foundation for occupational therapy practice, grounded in evidence, theory, and principles of ethical leadership. The MS OT program includes 70 credits of coursework over six semesters, with 52 hours of didactic and lab work followed by two 12-week Level II fieldwork experiences. It is a hybrid weekend, full-time program that prepares graduates for licensure as entry-level occupational therapy practitioners.

Occupational Therapy Assistant

Occupational Therapy Assistant courses are offered during Weekend College, taught in a combination of lecture, discussion and demonstration formats. Clinical experience is offered in a variety of traditional settings, including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, mental health facilities, developmental centers and schools. Graduates are eligible to sit for the National Occupational Therapy Assistant Certification Examination administered by NBCOT and to apply for state licensure.

Online Nursing Completion

The BS degree in Online Nursing Completion Program is designed for graduates of an accredited associate degree or diploma program in nursing, who also hold a New York State unencumbered RN license, to complete the last two years of a bachelor's degree in nursing. The purpose of the program is to educate nurses who utilize evidence for practice decisions throughout a variety of healthcare settings and have knowledge regarding contemporary issues shaping nursing and healthcare.

Practical Nurse

The Practical Nurse Certificate (PNC) is a college credit-bearing program in the Nursing Department that prepares program graduates to sit for the New York State National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN). Nursing courses are held every weekend and the program can be completed by qualified applicants within 6 semesters on a part-time basis. The program consists of 46 credits, 30 in nursing and 16 in the liberal arts and sciences.

Psychology

The BS in Psychology provides students with the flexibility and foundation to move into a number of highly rewarding careers, including organizational and industrial psychology, customer service, rehabilitation, or government positions, as well as preparation for graduate school. A required internship provides relevant work experience with professional practitioners, and two required research courses prepare students for the rigors of graduate study.

Public Health

The BS in Public Health integrates a scientific foundation of health with behavioral science and humanities, clinical practice, and social justice principles. Students can utilize this degree to enter the workforce in community health programming, education, and promotion, or to enter a graduate/professional school for advanced training in a wide range of fields. Students complete foundational courses, the Public Health core, free electives, and one set of concentration track courses.

Radiologic Technology

Radiologic technology is an academic and clinical program that prepares students to perform medical imaging to assist a physician in diagnosing a patient's injury or illness. The curriculum incorporates adult learning theories as a framework that guides the integration of evidence-based practice, quality improvement methods, and safety. The program prepares students to pass the National Certification Examination prepared by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Sterile Processing Technician

A credit-bearing professional certificate program in sterile processing, consisting of Sterile Processing I and II, a sterile processing professional experience course, Composition I, and Introduction to Public Health across three terms.

Surgical Technology

The surgical technology program was developed in partnership with St. Peter's Hospital and is offered in a flexible format with a 4-semester day and 6-semester evening option. The curriculum integrates theory, laboratory and clinical practice experience to prepare students to work as a member of a surgical team, blending courses in anatomy, microbiology, and psychology with specialized surgical technology training.
