Accounting

Upon successful completion of the M.S.A. program, most students will have met the educational requirements to sit for the Certified Public Accountant exam in most states. Students who have fulfilled all prerequisites before matriculating may complete the degree in 30 credit hours of study.

Accounting

The courses in accounting provide students with a broad knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, cost accounting practices, not-for-profit and governmental accounting procedures, and tax laws.

Accounting (Combined B.B.A./M.S.A.)

Alternative School Counseling

American Dance Pedagogy

American dance teacher majors study business, choreography, and the art of teaching dance to help them become well-prepared dance teachers.

Applied Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

Applied Computer Science

Child Advocacy Studies Training

This interdisciplinary program provides education and training in the area of child maltreatment, educating individuals in identifying and documenting child maltreatment and in responding competently to children who have been maltreated.

Christian Education

The associate certification in Christian education is a program for persons over twenty-five years of age who do not have a college degree and who wish to receive training leading to certification in the United Methodist Church. Students must complete a minimum of 24 semester hours in the area of specialization.

Clinical Mental Health Counseling

The Petree College of Arts & Sciences offers the Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, designed to prepare students for professional counseling practice across a range of clinical and community settings. Graduates are trained to provide counseling services to individuals, groups, and families experiencing personal, social, career, and mental health concerns.

Clinical Research Methods

Clinical Telemental Health

A master's certificate offered through the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program covering foundations of telemental health and advanced applications in telemental health.

Computer Science

The Master of Science in computer science degree offers professional development and enhancement of skills, in-depth study of computers, and a balance of abstract knowledge and practical understanding. Conducting

A Master of Music program in the Wanda L. Bass School of Music including conducting seminars, score reading and analysis, major ensemble, theory and literature courses, and a conducting recital. Dance

Dance majors applying for their final degree track who do not meet the minimum criteria for the B.P.A. in Dance Performance, B.S. in Dance Management, or B.S. in American Dance Pedagogy have the option of being evaluated for the Bachelor of Arts in Dance degree.

Esports Management

An interdisciplinary major combining mass communications and exercise and sport science coursework covering sports media, promotion, event management, and esports team management, culminating in an esports capstone.

Exercise Science

This rigorous 65-hour major is designed to prepare students who wish to enter the field of exercise science. Students are exposed to a strong science background, making them excellent candidates for employment in exercise-related areas, advanced graduate studies, or professional school.

Family Nurse Practitioner

A post-master's advanced practice certificate for nurses who already hold a master's degree in nursing, covering health promotion and primary care across the lifespan and procedural skills for advanced practice providers. Film

A liberal-arts-oriented film degree covering film studies, history, screenwriting, workshops, editing, theory and criticism, producing, and directing, culminating in a senior capstone.

Film Production

Law

An Oklahoma City University School of Law education is built upon a curriculum based on the values of the liberal arts tradition, blending theory with practical experience to prepare graduates for a wide variety of careers. The School of Law is fully approved by the American Bar Association and is a member of the Association of American Law Schools. A minimum of 90 credit hours is required for completion of the J.D. degree, and the school offers both full-time and part-time options.

Law and Business Administration

The OCU School of Law and the Meinders School of Business collaborate on a paired J.D./M.B.A. program for students interested in the intersection of law and business. Applications are reviewed by each school separately, and students accepted by both schools typically earn both separate degrees within a three- to four-year time period. To earn the M.B.A. portion, students must complete 30 credits of M.B.A. requirements.

Law and Nonprofit Organizations and Leadership

The School of Law, in conjunction with the Petree College of Arts and Sciences, offers a J.D./M.A. joint degree program designed to provide a meaningful combined experience for students with an interest in law and nonprofit organizations. Marketing is a system of business activities that begins with an interpretation of the wants and needs of consumers. The emphasis of the program is a blend of theory and hands-on experiences through projects with external clients, internships, and interactions with leaders in the marketing industry.

Mass Communications

Nursing

The Master of Science in Nursing extends and expands the fulfillment of the missions of the university and Kramer School of Nursing by preparing nurses to become effective leaders in service to their communities. Nursing

Opera Performance

Philosophy

The philosophy major requires each student to refine their ideas in relation to the history of philosophical activity in preparation for an original senior thesis. It provides the foundation for graduate study in philosophy as well as professional training in law and ministry.

Philosophy/Political Science/Economics

The PPE major is an interdisciplinary major administered jointly by the Departments of Philosophy and Political Science and includes preferential admission policies at the School of Law. The major is patterned after the philosophy, politics, and economics major at the University of Oxford.

Physical Therapy

The Doctor of Physical Therapy program includes a combination of didactic and clinical education experiences, with courses covering basic/foundational sciences, clinical sciences, leadership, research, and clinical education. The degree program prepares students as entry-level generalists who are capable of working in a variety of settings and pursuing a specialty area within the physical therapy profession.

Physician Assistant Studies

The Master of Physician Assistant Studies program prepares physician assistants who are competent in the art and science of medicine so that they may improve lives in the communities they serve. The curriculum provides 28 months of educational training, starting with classroom learning presented in an integrated systems-based format followed by multiple supervised clinical practice experiences, and includes a parallel course of study in business aspects of medicine.

Piano Performance

A Bachelor of Music in Performance degree in piano, including applied piano, piano ensemble and accompanying, piano pedagogy, conducting, and music theory and literature.

Political Science

The program provides a liberal arts education with an emphasis in the study of political science and prepares students for a wide variety of careers. Students choose among political studies, pre-law, and international relations emphases.

Pre-Engineering Studies

A dual degree program with Washington University in St. Louis. Students complete three (or four) years at Oklahoma City University and then transfer to Washington University to complete two years of engineering coursework, earning a B.S. in Pre-Engineering Studies from OCU and a B.S. in Engineering from Washington University.

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

A post-master's advanced practice certificate covering foundations of psychiatric mental health for advanced practice, advanced psychopharmacology, and psychiatric mental health nursing courses and practica. Graduates are eligible to sit for the national certification examination in the specialty area.

Psychology

The Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology provides advanced training in the scientific practice of professional psychology with commitment to evidence-based practice. This 120-hour degree program prepares students to provide evidence-based psychological services in a variety of settings to address a range of client mental health needs. A Master of Science degree is conferred after a student has completed their first two years of coursework (51 hours) in the program.

Psychology
