Associate in Arts (University Transfer)

The Associate in Arts transfer degree is designed for students who plan to transition to a baccalaureate program as a junior. Students take the same lower-division courses they would take as a freshman or sophomore at a university and are guaranteed transfer to the Florida State University System under the statewide Articulation Agreement.

Automotive Service Management Technology

The Associate in Applied Science in Automotive Service Management Technology prepares students for an entry-level automotive service technician position leading to advancement into automotive service managerial positions. Students learn in classroom, hands-on lab environments, and cooperative work-based learning experiences, and are prepared to pass Automotive Service Excellence industry certification exams. (Pending SACSCOC approval.)

Automotive Service Technician

A 24-credit-hour certificate preparing students for further education or an entry-level automotive service technician position through classroom, hands-on, and lab training in engines, brakes, electrical, drive train, and related systems. Prepares students for ASE industry certification exams and may apply to the A.A.S. in Automotive Service Management Technology. (Pending SACSCOC approval.)

Business Administration

The Associate in Science in Business Administration prepares students for careers in management in virtually any organization in the private, public, or service sectors. Coursework covers management, marketing, personal selling, accounting, and financial management services, emphasizing management judgment, initiative, critical reasoning, and communications.

Business Operations

An 18-credit-hour program offering a sequence of courses aligned with the Business, Management, and Administration career cluster, covering planning, organizing, directing, and controlling a business. Prepares students for entry to intermediate-level positions in business.

Business Specialist

A 12-credit-hour program aligned with the Business, Management, and Administration career cluster, covering theories of management and decision making and the knowledge needed to manage people and functions. Prepares students for entry-level positions in business.

Carpentry Apprenticeship

An apprenticeship program preparing students for advancement as residential or commercial carpenters, combining paid On-the-Job Training with supplemental classroom instruction in carpentry installation, repair, and maintenance. Graduates receive a four-level NCCER certification and a State of Florida Completion of Apprenticeship certificate.

Chef's Apprentice

A 12-credit-hour program for students interested in the culinary industry, focusing on the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to work safely and efficiently in a culinary setting, including sanitation and safety, food identification, storage, and preparation methods.

Criminal Justice: Basic Law Enforcement (BLE) Academy

The 770-hour Florida Law Enforcement Basic Recruit Training Program meeting the requirements of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission. Successful completion is required to take the Florida State Officer Certification Examination for Law Enforcement.

Criminal Justice: Correctional Basic Recruit Training Academy

The 445-hour Correctional Basic Recruit Training Program meeting the basic training requirements of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission. Successful completion is required to take the Florida State Officer Certification Examination for Corrections.

Criminal Justice: Crossover Correctional to Law Enforcement Academy

The 518-hour Crossover Corrections to Law Enforcement Academy meeting the minimum requirements of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission. Successful completion enables certified corrections officers to take the Florida State Officer Certification Examination for Law Enforcement.

Criminal Justice Technology

The two-year Associate in Science degree in Criminal Justice Technology is designed for individuals who seek a career in law enforcement, corrections, criminalistics, or community-based control functions, as well as those currently employed who want to improve their skills. This program does not lead to basic certification as a law enforcement or correctional officer.

Culinary Arts

A 35-credit-hour program for students interested in the culinary industry and for culinary managers. It integrates baking and pastry skills with traditional culinary skills, plus knife skills, kitchen procedures, and sanitation/safety.

Culinary Arts Management

An 18-credit-hour program designed for culinary managers desiring to enhance their skills, integrating baking and pastry skills with traditional culinary skills, knife skills, kitchen procedures, and sanitation/safety.

Culinary Management

This program provides content and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in the food and beverage industry, with emphasis on Culinary Management, Culinary Arts, and Chef Apprentice education. Students receive intensive practical instruction in food preparation and presentation and are prepared to enter the culinary workforce, including roles as Professional Chef and Food and Beverage Manager.

Diving Business and Technology

A certificate for students seeking training in diving business and technology without immediately pursuing the A.A.S. degree. Offered in specialization areas including Fundamentals of Professional Diving (17 credits), Professional Dive Instructor (15 credits), and Professional Research Diving (14 credits); courses may apply to the A.A.S. in Diving Business & Technology.

Diving Business & Technology

The Associate in Applied Science in Diving Business and Technology prepares students to manage dive businesses in retail sales, rentals, and equipment repair. Students are trained in diving physics and physiology, emergency medicine, recompression chamber operation, mixed gas dive planning, and underwater photography, and a variety of diving certifications are available through agencies such as AAUS, DAN, EFR, PADI, and PCI/PSI.

Electrical Apprenticeship

An apprenticeship program preparing students for advancement as residential or commercial electricians, combining paid On-the-Job Training with supplemental classroom instruction in electrical installation, repair, and maintenance. Graduates receive a four-level NCCER certification and a State of Florida Completion of Apprenticeship certificate.

Emergency Medical Services

The Associate of Science in Emergency Medical Services provides knowledge and skills to prepare for further education and careers in Emergency Medical Services. Upon completion of the EMS 1158C course students are eligible to sit for the EMT National Certification Exam, and upon completion of the Paramedic-level coursework students are able to sit for the National Paramedic Exam.

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

A 12-credit-hour program designed for persons involved in emergency care of the sick and injured, including firefighters, law enforcement, rescue personnel, and those entering the EMS profession. Students must earn a grade of B or higher to sit for the National Registry of EMTs certification exam; requires medical clearance, background check, and drug screen.

Engineering Technology – Renewable Energy Technician

Engineering Technology (ET) is a growing field with many potential areas of specialization. At the College, the ET degree focuses on technician training for the renewable alternative energy career pathway, with an area of specialization for wind, solar, and hydrokinetic (tidal) power industries.

Entrepreneurship

A 12-credit-hour program providing the skills and knowledge to start, operate, maintain, and improve a business. Students build a portfolio culminating in a business plan presentation, learning marketing planning, pro forma financials, and E-Commerce.

Exceptional Student Education

The Bachelor of Science in Exceptional Student Education is designed for graduates who have completed a minimum of an A.A., EDF 2005, and EEX 2010. This Florida Department of Education-approved Initial Teacher Preparation program produces highly qualified K-12 educators eligible for Florida Professional Teacher Certifications in Exceptional Student Education (K-12), Reading, and ESOL, and requires field experience.

General Automotive Technician

A 44-credit-hour certificate preparing students for further education or an entry-level automotive service technician position through classroom, hands-on, and lab training in engines, brakes, electrical, transmissions, and related systems. Prepares students for ASE industry certification exams and may apply to the A.A.S. in Automotive Service Management Technology. (Pending SACSCOC approval.)

Guest Services Specialist

A 15-credit-hour technical certificate that is part of the Hospitality and Ecotourism Management A.S. degree, preparing students for immediate employment in the guest services area of hotels, resorts, and ecotourism sites. Covers customer service, hospitality attitude, communications, security, and front office operations.

Hospitality & Ecotourism Management

This program provides content and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in the Hospitality & Tourism career cluster, with a focus on ecotourism and sustainability principles. It prepares students for management positions in the hospitality industry including hotels, motels, resorts, clubs, marinas, and other lodging organizations.

HVAC Apprenticeship

An apprenticeship program preparing students for advancement as residential or commercial air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating technicians, combining paid On-the-Job Training with supplemental classroom instruction. Graduates receive a four-level NCCER certification and a State of Florida Completion of Apprenticeship certificate.

Law Enforcement Auxiliary Officer Academy

The 360-hour Auxiliary Officer Training Program meeting the requirements of the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. It trains applicants to assist full- or part-time officers; completion is required to take the State Officer Certification Examination for Law Enforcement.

Marine Engineering, Management, & Seamanship

The Associate in Applied Science in Marine Engineering, Management, and Seamanship prepares students for the marine industry through coursework in marine diesel and outboard systems, boat repair, marine electricity, welding, seamanship, and marine engineering management. Career pathway elective clusters include advanced marine technician, fiberglass, seamanship, welding, and marine engineering management.

Marine Environmental Technology

The Associate in Science in Marine Environmental Technology prepares students for a diverse set of employment opportunities in marine environmental technology and other marine-oriented careers, including technicians at environmental or research laboratories, environmental consulting, aquaculture/mariculture facilities, ecotourism, and conservation and restoration projects. A strong theoretical foundation is applied through field study across marine habitats in the Florida Keys.

Marine Resource Management

The Bachelor of Science in Marine Resource Management is designed for graduates who have completed an A.A. or A.S. degree. It includes coursework and field experience in marine resource management, providing specialized skills in restoration and conservation biology/ecology, data collection techniques, GIS software, and best management practices for biological and cultural resources, culminating in a required capstone experience.

Marine Technology

A 34-credit-hour program (approximately one calendar year) for students wanting training in marine gasoline and diesel engines without immediately pursuing the A.A.S. degree. Courses may apply to the A.A.S. in Marine Engineering, Management, and Seamanship.

Medical Assistant

A 44-credit-hour certificate preparing individuals to provide health services in ambulatory out-patient facilities. Covers diagnostic, clinical, and administrative functions including blood draws, EKGs, X-rays, vital signs, medication administration, insurance coding, and billing, with an externship each semester. Requires medical clearance, background check, and drug screen.

Nursing (Registered Nurse)

This limited access program is designed to prepare individuals to function with intellectual and technical competence as registered nurses. The Associate in Science Degree in Nursing is awarded upon completion of the twenty-two-month generic RN program, after which the graduate is eligible to apply to the Florida Board of Nursing to take the NCLEX-RN for licensure.

Nursing (RN to BSN)

The Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-BSN) is designed for nurses who have completed an associate degree in nursing and are licensed as a registered nurse or eligible to take the NCLEX. The program includes coursework and field experience in supervision, community health, and nursing practice, preparing nurses for opportunities requiring a BSN and advanced practice.

Paramedic

A 42-credit-hour certificate for certified EMTs preparing them to sit for the National Paramedic Exam and work as a Paramedic. Requires EMT certification and completion of BSC 1085/1085L prior to enrolling, plus medical clearance, background check, and drug screening.

Phlebotomy

The Phlebotomy Technician program prepares students for employment in a hospital laboratory, blood center, or other health care facility to draw blood by venipuncture and capillary puncture, emphasizing safe practices, specimen handling, and CDC guidelines. Requires medical clearance, background check, and drug screen.

Plumbing Technology Apprenticeship

An apprenticeship program preparing students for advancement as residential or commercial plumbers, combining paid On-the-Job Training with supplemental classroom instruction. Graduates receive a four-level NCCER certification and a State of Florida Completion of Apprenticeship certificate.

Professional Welder

A 16-credit-hour program (approximately one calendar year) for students wanting training in welding and fabrication without immediately pursuing the A.A.S. degree. Courses may apply to the A.A.S. in Marine Engineering, Management, and Seamanship.

Rooms Division Management

A 30-credit-hour technical certificate that is part of the Hospitality and Ecotourism Management A.S. degree, preparing students for immediate employment in the hospitality guest services area. Covers employability and customer service, hospitality marketing, hospitality law, and hotel management operations.

Rooms Division Operations

A 19-credit-hour technical certificate that is part of the Hospitality and Ecotourism Management A.S. degree, preparing students to work in operations and entry-level supervisor/manager roles such as Front Desk Supervisor or Guest Relations Supervisor in the hotel/motel sector.

Rooms Division Specialist

A 13-credit-hour technical certificate that is part of the Hospitality and Ecotourism Management A.S. degree, preparing students for specialist and entry-level hotel positions such as Front Desk Agent, Guest Relations Agent, or Reservations Clerk.

Supervision and Management

The Bachelor of Applied Science in Supervision and Management is designed for graduates who have completed an A.A. or A.S. degree. It includes coursework and field experience in supervision and management settings, giving graduates specialized skills in management, finance, marketing, human resources, and leadership. Offers business or hospitality specialization options.

Tropical Ornamental Mariculture Technician (TOMT)

A 30-credit-hour certificate designed to develop marine ornamental entrepreneurs and provide technician-level marine aquaculture skills to support the growing tropical marine aquaculture industry and reduce demand on wild oceanic resources.
