Machine Operator Technician

This course equips participants with the skills to excel as machine operators in the manufacturing industry. The training covers safety and regulatory knowledge, measurement and inspection techniques, mathematical and conversion skills, machine operation, programming and equipment maintenance, quality control and documentation, blueprint reading and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), troubleshooting and machine care, and workflow efficiency and teamwork. Participants progress from an introduction to machine operations through workplace safety, basic mathematics, reading blueprints and GD&T, quality control, programming and operating machinery, and equipment maintenance. By the end, participants can identify safety standards, read measurements with various tools, operate CNC machines to produce parts within specified tolerances, perform preventive maintenance, complete quality documentation, interpret blueprints and GD&T, and troubleshoot operational and quality issues, finishing ready to work as proficient machinists. Participants who successfully complete the theory and hands on lab for this course earn an ACCS credential. Academic Pathways: This non-credit workforce training course may also help participants earn college credit through Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) or articulation opportunities toward select certificate or degree programs at participating Alabama community colleges. Credit awards are granted solely at the discretion of the receiving institution in accordance with its academic policies.
