This program begins with the purchase of the Marine Coatings course through the course schedule page, which includes a voucher for the Marine Coatings specialty exam. The exam is scheduled separately through your My Certification Portal. You'll gain the knowledge to evaluate surface preparation, coating application, and quality control, while understanding marine-specific corrosion challenges, coating selection, inspection techniques, documentation, and key regulations such as IMO PSPC. Earning this specialty credential validates your expertise and provides employers and stakeholders with verified proof of your competence in marine coating inspection. Prerequisite No prerequisites are required to take the Marine Coatings Technology course. For the specialty certification: Current Basic, Certified, or Senior Certified Coatings Inspector certification required.
